Built in 1910 as Teddy O' Sullivan's pub it was a family run business and still to this day is run within the family. Helen Moriarty the current proprietor is a niece of the late Teddy O' Sullivan and has worked in the bar all her life. Helen's Bar is a traditional cosy pub with a lot of history behind it's walls.
Even though Helen's Bar is 24 kilometers from the nearest town there is no shortage of activities for all ages around the place. ' Kenmare Diving Center ' run by Paul Tanner holds his office onsite and launches his boat from the pier. This Diving Center attracts many people from all over the country and we here at Helen's Bar cater for both meals and accommodation.
Not only that but there are many mapped hill walks surrounding the area and during the summer months people come to experience the magic views of that in the parish of Tuosist.
